I have bet on millions of rounds of vingt-et-un. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was still underage. I have bet on online vingt-et-un, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short time. With all that said I have still spent a lot of bankroll at blackjack. The gambling halls have made it nearly impossible to beat the house.
I still enjoy the game and gamble on a regular basis. Over the years I have enjoyed a variation of 21 called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won’t get flush with this method or beat the house, nonetheless you will experience a lot of fun. This tactic is centered on the fact that 21 appears to be a game of runs. When you are on fire your hot, and when you’re not you are NOT!
I wager with basic strategy chemin de fer. When I lose I wager the table minimum on the next hand. If I lose again I wager the table minimum on the next hand again etc. As soon as I profit I take the winnings paid to me and I bet the original bet again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I win again I take the payout paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original wager. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I lose I lower the wager back down to the original bet.
I am very strict and do not "chicken out". It gets very enjoyable on occasion. If you succeed at a few hands in series your bets go up very fast. Before you know it you are betting $100-200per hand. I have had great runs a number of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Luxor a few years ago with $750 after 35 minutes using this technique! And a few weeks ago in Las Vegas I left a table with $1200!
You have to understand that you can lose a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be surprised at the streaks you see betting this way. Here is a chart of what you would wager if you continue winning at a $5 table.
Bet 5 dollar
Take 5 dollar paid-out to you, leave the initial five dollar wager
Bet 5 dollar
Leave $5 paid-out to you for a total bet of 10 dollar
Bet ten dollar
Take ten dollar paid to you, leave the original $10 wager
Wager $10
Leave ten dollar paid to you for a total bet of $20
Bet $20
Take $20 paid-out to you, leave the initial $20 wager
Bet 20 dollar
Leave twenty dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of $40
Wager 40 dollar
Take forty dollar paid to you, leave the initial forty dollar wager
Bet 40 dollar
Leave $40 paid-out to you for a total wager of 80 dollar
Bet eighty dollar
Take eighty dollar paid-out to you, leave the first eighty dollar wager
Wager 80 dollar
Leave $80 paid-out to you for a total bet of 160 dollar
Wager 160 dollar
Take one hundred and sixty dollar paid to you, leave the first 160 dollar bet
If you left at this point you would be up 315 dollar !!
It is herculean to go on a run this long, but it occasionally happen. And when it does you can NOT deviate and drop your wager or the end result won’t be the same.
